Time to revisit the Rwanda Ingoboka Coop coffee. This is our second year carrying the Ingoboka coffee. This is a 100% Bourbon coffee grown by the members of the Ingoboka farmer's association. This coffee is grown in the west of Rwanda, near the shores of Lake Kivu. The farms range in altitude from 1450-1800 meters, in volcanic soils. This coffee is wet processed with fresh water, sun dried and hand-sorted. We found this coffee to be really intense and sweet. Look for flavors of creme brulee, lemon/citrus, soft fruit and a rich body. Overall Rating: 92 points Aroma: 9 Acidity: 7 Body: 8 Flavor: 9 Aftertaste: 7 Roast (Agtron): Medium (47/60) Notes: The coffee cooperatives of Rwanda, benefiting from superb growing conditions, traditional varieties of arabica and support from aid agencies and coffee idealists, are beginning to produce coffees that rank among the world's finest and most distinctive. Bourbon is a prestigious heirloom variety of Coffea arabica. New Harvest is an artisan roasting company focusing on refined coffee and responsible sourcing. Blind Assessment: Intense, complex but elegant aromatics - flowers, chocolate, butter (or perhaps butterscotch), cherryish fruit - carry from nose through cup into the short finish. The acidity is gentle and balanced, the mouth feel lean but delicate.
