Indonesia Washed Arabica Flores

We have just booked some bags of wonderful coffee from Flores, Indonesia. This coffee is sweet, chocolatey and had a frizzant quality to it. Really unique! This coffee comes from a group that has been sorting and selling coffees from Flores since 2003, through a project funded by AMARTA, DAI, and USAID. A production facility was set up on Flores in 2005.

They are working on improving traceability, tracking the production of single farmers, and monitoring soil health, etc. The coffees are purchased from the farmers at buying stations and milled at the central production facility. Cuppings are performed along each step of the process to ensure quality. Flores is a small island (360 km from tip to tip) in the Indonesian archipelago around 200 nautical miles East of Bali. Flores was known as Pulau Nipa (Snake Island) before the Portuguese arrived and they renamed it Flores (Flower Island). A very long thin Mountainous land with incredibly diverse terrain, and numerous active and inactive volcanic peaks. Chocolate, dry acidity, spice.

Sulawesi Troajaland

Strawberry, earthy, spicy, dry acidity, syrupy body. Very similar to a Java or Indo but without all the funk mixed in with the berry flavours associated with an East African.

Sumatra Lintong Triple Pick Special Prep
Classic Sumatran, bright, malty, earthy, bell pepper.
